What is a typical day of cat skiing in Georgia?

We love the variety of Bakhmaro and how every day is different. But we do have a general pattern in our trips. Below you’ll find our usual timetable for a typical day out in Bakhmaro.

08:00 Breakfast

09:00 Transceiver check | Head out in the snowcat

13:00 Packed lunch on the mountain

16:00 Final run (total of 8-12 runs per day)

17:00 Return to lodge for tea, cake and fruit

19:00 Dinner 🙂

We have an honesty bar stocked with Georgian beer and wine, a music sound system, backgammon and a sauna to keep you entertained in the evening. We can also stop in at Bar Bakhmaro on the way back to the lodge for apres ski if we call ahead for opening!

Our first day on the mountain differs from the typical day cat skiing schedule above. It begins with avalanche safety checks and full practice session before we set off. Travel days also run on a different schedule: arrival day revolves around transferring guests to Bakhmaro, organising and fitting hire equipment, and settling everyone in at our lodge. Our final cat skiing day usually starts earlier as we leave Bakhmaro for the city at the end of our freeride day. Guests fly out the next day.

You can also check out our tour plans for the 6 day cat skiing trip, 3 day cat skiing trip and our cat skiing + ski touring trip. There, you’ll find a day-by-day plan for each trip.
