Our cat skiing accommodation in Georgia has a rustic twist and authentic charm that’s different from mainstream European resort lodgings.

We stay across three lodges in Bakhmaro: Terrace Bakhmaro, Old Bakhmaro and Alpina. Each has its own feel and setting in the valley.

Terrace Bakhmaro is nestled between the trees, looking out over the peaks and terrain we will ski and ride during your time here. Perched on a plateau, the lodge sits alone, peering down on the abandoned summer cabins of Bakhmaro below.

In the valley, you’ll find our other spacious guesthouse, Old Bakhmaro, looking across to our freeride playground. Old Bakhmaro rests amongst the hauntingly empty, snow-covered homes, church, pharmacy and police station.

Alpina is our cosier hillside option at the opposite end of the valley from Old Bakhmaro – hosting a single snowcat group.

All three lodges are warm, comfortable, and set up for cat skiing life. They have a simple, unfussy, laid-back vibe. full of warmth and cosiness (plus the talents of live-in Georgian cooks). They’re broadly similar in comfort. The differences are in their location, layout and atmosphere that every new group brings.

Each house has a bar, sauna and cold plunge – perfect after a day of catskiing – and the homes are owned and managed by a group of local Georgians who will look after you in the best of spirits.

We currently operate five snowcats across our lodges. Off-season, we review our accommodation set up, and we may change or update properties to offer you a better stay in Bakhmaro.

We’re happy to take accommodation preferences and will always do our best to match them, but final lodge allocation depends on weekly operations and logistics.

VEGANS AND VEGETARIANS

Many Georgian dishes are vegetarian or vegan. In fact, many Orthodox Georgians do not eat animal products during Lent (Samarkhvo). So you’ll find there is plenty of variety and amazing vegetarian food, that’s part of our national cuisine.

Please do discuss the specifics of your dietary requirements with us so we fully understand them – for example, honey is not typically considered an animal product in Georgia. We will always do our best to cater for different dietary requirements. Do be aware that we are in a remote location, and must plan with you in advance for special requirements.

Our kitchen handles flour, dairy, meat and nuts every day.
